I would like some Adult help with the organization of this event. There will be an exciting aspect to this year's Summer Camp - a ceremony will be held to open a Time Capsule that is in the wall of the Hawk’s Nest Pavilion. A Troop from Mississippi will be joining us in the ceremony - more details to follow.

There will be a Leader Meeting 14 April & 13 May by Zoom for Adult Leader information and questions, this is with Council.

Our Troop will have a Summer Camp Parents/Youth mtg tentatively 26 April - this will likely be a Zoom mtg - I will send details in advance of this meeting.

Three important first steps:
  1. Contact me by email to reserve a spot for your Scout
  2. Send $75 dollars to the Troop via PayPal
  3. Decide on the desired Merit Badges and/or Brazos Buccaneers participation - there will be a Parent Portal provided where you will make selections, this information will follow soon.
Thanks, I think this will be a Summer Camp to remember!

Consolidation of T444 Member Websites

Posted on Apr 13 2021 - 10:07am

The Troop committee, together with leaders of both troops (boys/girls) have decided to merge our member websites to help streamline communications.

The change should be effective this week, so please bear with us -- as we may experience a hiccup or two through the transition!

What does this mean for you?

  • There will be one site for all T444 news and calendar updates (t444.org)
  • Each week you will receive a tailored newsletter with updates that pertain to you & your Scout(s)
  • Committee members and leaders of both troops will have one central dashboard to enter information
  • There will be a new set of email lists (you must be a member of a list to send to it):
    • announce - will send to everyone in both troops
    • t444b - will send to everyone in the boys' troop
    • t444g - will send to everyone in the girls' troop

Let us know if there are any questions!

Regards,
Your Technology Subcommittee

Scout/Adult Swim Tests 4/11 - times also available next weekend

Posted on Apr 10 2021 - 11:29pm
All scouts and parents in the boys and girls troops can get their official BSA Swimmer Test done next weekend at the Oak Point Recreation Center indoor pool in East Plano. We've had a difficult time finding a facility to accommodate this with COVID regulations, so this is an important opportunity - and as per BSA rules, this test will be required for ALL scouts and adults attending the boys troop canoeing campout in April that want to float the river, as well as for scouts and adults attending summer camps or high-adventure trips.
